ABRW Committee Welcomes You
Welcome to Airlie Beach Race Week!
The Race Week Committee welcomes you to the Whitsundays for the 36th edition of Airlie Beach Race week, where you will enjoy the spoils of Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands
With some changes to the organising committee this year we welcome Jenni Birdsall to the position of Regatta Director, and Kevin Wilson as Principal Race Officer (PRO). With their assistance we are aiming to make the 2024 ABRW a fun filled and friendly regatta to be enjoyed both on water and at our newly extended club facilities
We are working hard with the local marinas, Port of Airlie and Coral Sea Marina, Whitsunday Regional Council, mooring owners as well as even working with slip ways to make sure we can accommodate all of our regular and new entrants.
We are hoping to find berthing for up to 175 vessels, making this the largest race week fleet in our 36 year history. This will mean a fleet split into 15 - 20 divisions and close to 3,000 crew volunteers and officials, making this year a festival of sailing and fun to be remembered.
Every afternoon and evening from August 8th to 15th there’s free live entertainment and a range of food stalls to be enjoyed at the Whitsunday Sailing Club after the racing. With the new onshore team headed by our Events Manager, Amanda Black, we will be hosting two or three major events, on key evenings and lay day.
We are very excited to be welcoming you all here for the week of sailing fun and festivities, and providing you an escape from the southern winter.

Committee Chairman
